Self Defence for Freshers

Self defence is all about practicality, using simple common sense, awareness of environment, making good choices and where necessary some physical techniques.

So all in all a  great start to the new academic year with a number of new students joining us in the first few weeks with a focus on building confidence and teaching some basic self defence techniques.

Moving on to teach the basics of our style of jiu jitsu and some more interesting techniques to round off the introductory sessions.

We look forward to further working with the students, making them aware of the potential dangers of new places and dark / late nights, and teaching them how to respond in various situations.

Aiuchi Nationals 2013

1470195_10153483905315694_849901405_nAwesome turn out at the Nationals this weekend, and so pleased and proud to see all the Winchester students train for the full two days with great enthusiasm and commitment.

With Jade and Jawa being placed 1st and 3rd in the Gauntlet competitions, we have kept our successful record of having students placed in the top 3 every year the club has been running.

Now the next challenge is to trade in some of those colours for new darker coloured ones!

The Aiuchi Nationals 2013 are approaching !!!!!

The Nationals are on the way in the very near future.
So if you’ve not already told us that you want to come along…. then make your mind up quickly, or you could miss the opportunity to train 🙂

Train for 1 day, or both days …. your choice, but if you miss it you will regret it, as it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet and train with all the other clubs in the association as a great venue. Oh and did I mention the social afterwards…… just make sure you’re ready to train again on the Sunday morning.

Tuesday 24th September 2013 – We’re Back !!!!

Winchester Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu :::: 7:30 – 9:30 resumes in the Dance Studio (Main Gym)

Bring

  • yourself,
  • an open mind,
  • lots of enthusiasm,
  • a Gi if you have one,
  • otherwise old Tshirt and Jogging Bottoms

and be prepared for a cracking session of jitsu, where you will learn some new skills or practice some old ones.

Get there a bit early so we can sort out the administration / form filling

Cheers 🙂
